Initiated by Gitanjali Babbar in 2011, Kat-Katha has been shaped by experienced, passionate and professional changemakers. Today, the organisation holds the confidence of many, both inside and outside of the community and stands synonymous with love, trust and diversity to end forced sex trade.
Over the years, the efforts by Kat-Katha have been recognized at several prestigious forums including L’oreal Paris Femina Women Awards, Times Now Amazing Indian Award, Zee TV Fempowerment, Mahindra Rise Award, Doordarshan Tejaswini, Reebok Fight To Fight, PNB Women of the Year, Radio Mirchi ‘Delhi Ke Hero’ and others.

What Our Mentors Think
While working for the concern of human trafficking we met with the Kat-Katha team in 2015. From the first day we could see the passion as well as compassion in the team, and their sincere motivation was evidence enough for a soon to be transformed GB-Road. They thrive to turn it into a healthy one, so that the didis and especially their children are free from exploitation & suffering.
When the COVID-Crisis started to affect all of our lives, we knew the community needed support, and thus it was decided that we will donate a large part from the sales of one of our photo books. We are glad to have had the chance to do something good through our donations and we are looking forward to visiting again.

Freelance Journalists & PhotographersWhen I visited "Pyar ka Mohalla" in 2019 for a health camp that Sashakt organised, it was distressing to witness the conditions in which the women there have to obligatory live in and at the same time, it was heart-warming to meet their lovely kids who were so full of life.
It was an enriching experience full of empowerment, love, gratitude, smiles and lots of life lessons. Hope to contribute more in the future in whatever ways I can. Hats off to Gitanjali for taking up the mission to empower the ones who are looked down upon by society for no fault of theirs. More power!
