What People Think About Us
Mansi Dhawan
Former Volunteer at Kat-Katha | EntrepreneurHaving learnt & unlearnt a zillion things in the space, Kat-Katha is now home for me. While I have only contributed my time, I have surely received much value & tons of memories. This space is the real essence of sisterhood, and offers selfless love & support. I am grateful to every individual in the space that has contributed in helping me meet my true self. I will always continue to serve the space in every possible capacity, from within or outside of the team.
Drishti Mehta
Former Volunteer at Kat-Katha | Founder at Born To PlayIt was a life altering experience working with this beautiful organisation. It presents to you a space which helps you discover and believe in yourself. The team empowers you so you go on the field to empower the community you work with that is Didis & bachas of GB Road. I continue tell my stories to my family/friends and whosoever I meet with a sense of pride and hope that it changes their perception about the GB Road.
Shruti Goel
Former Operations Manager at Kat-Katha | M&E Officer at Clinton Health Access InitiativeKat-Katha is a unique experiment of person-centred development work. Their services for women and children living in brothels span from awareness & education to skill building and alternative livelihoods. Their work is rooted in empathy, dignity and hope. I am proud to have found my roots and the courage to follow my heart at Kat-Katha.
Ojasvini Sondhi
Volunteer (Communications) | Independent Communication StrategistIn 2018, when I first started volunteering with Kat-Katha, I was elated to be surrounded by such warmth & love; all in the middle of a red light area that I was permitted to visit very hesitantly. And, I have been hooked onto the ‘Pyaar ka Mohala’ ever since! More power to this admirable team that is compassionately driving this change (read: revolution).
Monib Ahmad
Former Volunteer | Freelance Content WriterAt Kat-Katha, I witnessed the long and complicated process of change that requires mountains of patience and which continues to this day: one didi, one child, one innocent soul at a time. If I could relive my college days, I would happily be a Kat volunteer all over again.
Shubham Nagpal
Former VolunteerThrough my fellow volunteers and Kat staff, I discovered that with the right intention, an oasis of compassion can be created anywhere in the world. Gitanjali Di remains one of the few models of bravery and unbound love that I have in my life. Working at Kat, I realized that small numbers can sometimes mean a lot more than bulging spreadsheets; that it takes time to nourish growing souls.
Hardik Gaurav
Former Volunteer | Freelance Content WriterAway from conventions, Kat-Katha runs on sheer love & pure intentions. And, the first day when I apprehensively walked into the space, all my fears were wiped out by the joyful faces of children & the volunteers; that is when my perspective and conviction for transforming the GB Road was imprinted.
Very soon, the sex-workers became didis (sisters) for me and their kids became my little friends, and meeting them became a part of the routine that I truly enjoyed.
There are just too many beautiful memories I will always cherish of my time at Kat-Katha.
Tanya Malik
Former Volunteer at Kat-KathaIn 2019, my journey with Kat-Katha was started as a result of a serendipitous turn of events. I had started volunteering as a teacher for the children, however it was the space that brought me lessons. For me, this is a safe space, and my ‘soul - food’. Here, love is cherished and relationships are made effortless. I cannot describe the magnitude of impact they are creating everyday. As for me, they’ve taught me to be happy - to smile & to cherish life.
